Brockway Summit to Tahoe City

18.5 miles of trail meander through aspen and conifer woods dotted with open hillsides that give rare but spectacular views of Lake Tahoe and the peaks lining the north shore. The cool, wildflower-fringed banks of Watson Lake and Creek (6 miles from Brockway) are refreshing spots for a mid-run break.

Brockway Summit - West: on the west side of Highway 267 1/2 mile south of the summit. Limited dirt pull-off parking.

Tahoe City - North: on Fairway Drive across from the Community Center, 1/8 mile north of Highway 89 on the west end of town.

Brockway Summit to Mt Rose

This 4 mile segment winds through thick forests and open meadows and trips across the feet of ancient volcanoes. Springtime fields of yellow mules ears sparkle against the deep blue backdrop of Lake Tahoe. Near the current end of the trail, spur paths climb the slopes of Martis Peak to sweeping views of the Sierra Crest, Lake Tahoe and the Carson Range.

Brockway Summit - East: just off the east side of Highway 267 1/2 mile south of the summit, on USFS Road 15N56. Dirt roadside parking.

The section of TRT between the current end of the Brockway trail east and Mt. Rose is the last remaining section of the Tahoe Rim Trail to be completed. Join in the near future when we have successfully completed this beautiful and historic 150 mile trail around the Lake Tahoe Basin.
