Tahoe Mountain Milers Running Club was started in 1995 several intrepid runners. Dave Cotter was one of them and he became the welcoming face of TMM and the Sagebrush Stompers for 18 years. We owe him a debt of gratitude for the immense amount of work he put in to create this club for locals who share a passion for running. The club is much more than just a local community of runners now. One of the wonderful things about the internet is that the club is accessible to anyone passing through our area.
TMM puts on many fine running events throughout the year, contributing proceeds to both local and national charities. Our biggest event of the year, the TRT 50k, 50mi and 100mi brings in world-class runners from all over the world. Another favorite race is the Nevada Day Classic, where runners and walkers complete a 2 mile or 8k course before the Nevada Day Parade. The last half mile of which funnels down the parade route as hot air balloons take off and early bird parade onlookers set up for the impending start of the parade. Because Nevada Day officially falls on Halloween, costumes are highly encouraged and rewarded.
We strive to bring the running community together as often as our busy schedules will allow and we love it when our members get involved! We want to be your go-to club for fun weekly runs, meeting other runners to share your journey with and inspiration to get outside and immerse yourself in this beautiful area we live in.
