All net proceeds benefit the Tahoe Heritage Foundation, a non-profit organization
which supports Forest Service environmental education programs at Lake Tahoe.

· DATE & START TIMES
October 5th, 2008: The Half Marathon will start at 9:00 a.m. The childrens' 1/2-mile Tadpole Trot will begin at 9:15 a.m. Both the 5K and 10K Trail Runs will begin at 10:00 a.m. There will be a course briefing 10 minutes before the start of the race.

Taylor Creek Snow Park, 3.5 miles north of the South Lake Tahoe “Y” on State Route 89.

· ENTRY FEES
By (postmarked) September 13: $30-10K/5K; $35-Half Marathon
After Sepetember 13: $35-10K/5K; $40-Half Marathon

· REGISTRATION
Race day registration begins at 8 a.m. at the Taylor Creek Snow Park. Did you wait until the last minute to register? You can save yourself some time on race day by registering at Camp Richardson Resort on October 1st from 12 pm to 4 pm.

0-10; 11-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+

· PACKET PICKUP
Race day packet pick-up for pre-registered participants will begins at 8 a.m. at the Taylor Creek Snow Park. Early packet pick-up will be available at the Camp Richardson Resort Oktoberfest on October 4th from 12 pm to 4 pm.

· SAFETY RULES
For the safety of all participants there will be NO DOGS, STROLLERS, BABY JOGGERS OR HEADPHONES allowed. Thank you for your understanding.

· AWARDS
Unique, handcrafted three deep in each race, sex and age division.

A pair of Montrail trail shoes will be awarded to the first place man and women in each distance.

· COURSE DESCRIPTION
Mostly forested trails along north shore of Fallen Leaf Lake, passing mountain meadows, historic buildings, spectacular Sierra fall colors and incredible views! Mileage markers on all courses. There are ample aid stations (6 on Half Marathon course). [Click here for course map.]

· AID STATIONS
There number of aid stations varies depepnding on the event distance. All aid stations will be stocked with water and Gatorade, the event's sport replacement drink. Some aid stations will be visit more than once:

Fallen Leaf Dam - 5K once, 10K & 1/2-Marathon twice
Fallen Leaf Road - 1/2-Marathon twice
Tahoe Mountain - 1/2-Marathon once
South Tahoe High School - 1/2-Marathon once

· KOKANEE TRAIL RUNS FEATURE

· Unique handcrafted ceramic awards 3 deep per category

· PARKING
Parking at the immediate event site will be limited again this year. Satellite parking will again be available at the Lake Tahoe Visitor Center and Historic Camp Richardson Resort (approximately ˝ to 1 mile away). Participants are encouraged to arrive early to allow for the extra time needed to walk to the event site. Please don't wait until the last minute to arrive. We'd hate to have you miss the race start!

· POST-EVENT REFRESHMENTS
Post race refreshments will be available for all registered runners. Children participating in the 1/2-mile non-competative Tadpole Trot will receive a finisher bag containing their award and refreshments.
