| Along the fire road in the Pine Nuts |
DESCRIPTION
A run of varying lengths offering amazing views
of the Pine Nuts to the east and the Sierra to the west. The trail is
either sand road or single track trail with some hills that will get
your attention.
| |
Dog friendly but watch for rattlers in the warm weather. One possible
loop includes a return along Pine Nut Rd's narrow shoulder. The drivers go FAST here.
|
| |
No bathroom facilities but some nice big clumps of pine nut trees offer privacy.
|
| |
Water for you and your dog, a hat, and sunscreen are a must for this and all desert runs.

DIRECTIONS
(From South Lake Tahoe) Take Kingsbury Grade (SR 207) over to Minden.
Turn Right at the stop sign
onto Foothill road (SR 206) and drive for 1.3 miles. Turn Left onto
Centerville Lane/Rd. Cross SR 88 at the stop sign. (Warning: THis is NOT a four-way stop!)
Turn left at the next stop sign then drive straight through the next two stop signs.
Not only does the speed limit reduce from 45 to 35 t0 25, it also changes name and
becomes Dresslerville Road and then Riverview Road. You'll eventually reach US HWY 395, with a 7-11
on the corner. Proceed across 395 - you're now on Pine Nut Road. VEER LEFT at the fork with Dump Road.
Continue driving up Pine Nut Road. We park on the right where a fire service road goes off into
the desert. If you reach Freds St, you've gone too far.
We usually carpool from Burger King.
