Highway 89 Bike Path
Running to Camp Rich on the Highway 89 Bike Path

DESCRIPTION

A 7-mile out-and-back along the South Lake Tahoe Bike Path, past Historic Camp Richardson. There is an opportunity to add a little loop through the Tallac and Pope estates.


 

Bullet - No Dog This is not a very good dog run. The bike path is extremely crowded on nice days. If you do take Rover then be sure he is on a short leash.

 

Bullet - Outhouse There is a bathroom in the General Store at Camp Rich and another at the Pope Estate.

DIRECTIONS

Take US HWY 50 to the junction with SR 89 in South Lake Tahoe. (This is the intersection known as "The Y".) Turn right onto SR 89 towards Tahoe City. Park on either side of the road immediately after the 4-lane road ends. The green gate, now pretty rusty, is on the left. This is the same place we park for the Green Gate run.
