The net proceeds from this event benefit the Tahoe Rim Trail Association trail maintenance program, the Lake Tahoe Nevada State Parks backcountry mountain bike patrol, South Lake Tahoe and Carson City High School cross‐country teams, Carson High School Volleyball Team, the Carson City Boy Scouts, Carson City American Legion, Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation and more. We are very pleased that we have exceeded $125,000 in donations from the past several years' proceeds of the TRTER 55K/50M/100M.
The host hotel for the Tahoe Rim Trail Endurance Runs is the Plaza Hotel in the heart of Carson City. It is located at 801 S. Carson Street, Carson City, NV 89701; Phone (775) 883‐9500. The Plaza Hotel is conveniently located just a few blocks from the Packet Pick up location. Special room rates negotiated for you at $69. Be sure to mention you are with the Tahoe Rim Trail Endurance Runs. The Plaza Hotel staff has been gracious enough to get up early and provide breakfast items at the hotel starting at 2 am. The Courtyard Marriott at the south end of town also gives us a special room rate of $99. Again, mention you’re with the TRT Endurance Runs.
THERE IS NO OVERNIGHT CAMPING ALLOWED AT SPOONER SUMMIT, WITHIN THE SPOONER LAKE STATE PARK OR AT THE DIAMOND PEAK SKI RESORT.
Finish line cutoff for the 100-mile event is 4:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon (35 hours). For the
detailed cut-off schedule please see "CUT-OFF TIMES".
Pacers are allowed solely as a safety consideration for fatigued runners in the remote and
rugged back country areas of the Tahoe Rim Trail Endurance Runs. Absolutely no physical or
mechanical aid may be given by the pacer to assist the runner over difficult sections of
the trail (except in medical emergencies), and no food, fluids or supplies of any kind may be
carried for the runner (no muling). 100-Mile pacers are allowed beginning at the 50-mile aid station (near the start/finish line) and at the second Diamond Peak aid station visit (80-miles). Both aid stations are accessible by car. Runners may only have one safety runner at a time. Tunnel Creek does not have vehicle access. Aid station personnel will make no arrangements to transport pacers or crew.
No competitor who is not actually taking part in the competition shall accompany any competitor during the competition nor shall any competitor be permitted to receive aid or refreshment from anyone during the progress of the competition except within 100 meters on either side of the fully stocked aid stations.
Pacers must check in at the 50 Mile aid station or at Diamond Peak aid station and will be issued a pacer bib number. This will help us make sure they are readily identifiable by our aid station staff, make sure we have enough food and beverage on the course for everyone and account for their safety in the same manner as our registered runners. Pacers should be self-sufficient, as they do not pay an entry fee. All pacers are required to sign an event waiver.
PRE AND POST-EVENT REFRESHMENTS
We will again host you with fabulous food trucks, massage tables, cool music, beer, sodas. This
is included in the entry fee for all registered participants. Family, crew members and pacers will need to purchase their own food at the food trucks. Food trucks accept cash and credit cards.
There will be First Aid / CPR qualified individuals and radio and /or cell phone communications
at each aid station. There will be medical staff at key aid stations and at the start/finish. Safety
patrol personnel will be deployed within each division between aid stations.
No event parking will be allowed within the Spooner Lake State Park because it is extremely
limited and the park is still open for general visitors. We provide ample FREE satellite
parking nearby at Spooner Junction approximately 1/2-mile from the park. Arrive at least one
hour early to ensure you have plenty of time to get into the park and situated prior to the race
Family members can use the satellite parking and shuttle service as well, however if they choose to park within Spooner State Park they will need to pay the State Park parking fees. There is no free event parking within Spooner State Park. If there is no parking attendant on duty, use the fee envelope or you will be ticketed.
Shuttle vans will be available before and after the race to transport participants, family and
friends to and from the event site. Participants are encouraged to arrive early to allow for the
extra time needed to shuttle to the event site.
There will be two 47-passenger coaches available to transport participants from the host hotels in Carson City to the event start on race day. Be sure to keep your bus ticket or ticket purchase receipt. You will need it to board the bus. Both coaches will have two departing times:
